Dr. Kelson Chabak is the Microelectronics Technology Area Lead for the AFRL Sensors Directorate, where he directs the internal research portfolio in device research, heterogenous integration, and microelectronics security. A key focus of his leadership is delivering impactful hardware prototypes for RF sensor sub-systems.

A recognized subject matter expert in wide and ultra-wide bandgap semiconductor devices and materials, Dr. Chabak earned his PhD from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. His influential research has been featured on the cover of two high-impact journals and cited in over 6,500 manuscripts. From 2022 to 2023, he also served as the Department of Air Force representative to the Defense Microelectronics Cross-Functional Team (DMCFT) for OUSD(R&E).
